MJ Gabel helped me sell a diamond from an engagement ring after the relationship fell apart. It was a high quality diamond close to 2 carats that I had tried to sell to local jewelers, some wholesalers at the jewelry district in a large nearby metropolitan area and to other on-line buyers diamond buyers who come up in a Google search. Nearly all of the local jewelers and the regional wholesalers offered low-ball offers which were approximately 1/3 of the retail appraised insurance value. Some other on-line buyers offered about 40-45% of the retail appraised insurance value and one offered about 70% of the retail appraised insurance value. Doing my research on the other on-line buyers, I determined that although the highest bidder’s websites claimed they were BBB accredited and they had a professional *** gemologists on staff, they weren’t accredited and their gemologists were not *** alumni.Links to the professional jewelers associations on their website didn’t work. MJ Gabel was professional all the way. They made me comfortable that my diamond would be insured while in their possession and they put my diamond in an auction where many professional diamond buyers would see the listing. The diamond sold at auction without a hitch and the value I received was more than 50% of the retail appraised insurance value. Payment was via wire transfer to my account. MJ Gabel explained what they were going to do and followed through to actually do everything that they had explained.

Many gold buyers are out there calling themselves “Diamond Buyers” – again look to the BBB for associated companies, or companies that have multiple names.
